Cabaret part II

This acrylic painting on a large canvas is another testament to the ethereal images that Gomez can create.  The phantasmagoria of expression and emotion commands the viewer’s attention. The depiction of the various faces gives us diverse expressions and perspectives. The artist uses bold contrasting colors against a dark background to create an ethereal dreamlike mural of displaced souls. The artist wanted to depict the whimsical chaos of large parties and festivals such as Carnival, Mardi Gras, J’ouvert, New Years Eve, Halloween. These gatherings are not only places and times for a melting pot of different aspects of our society, they create an open-air bubble of a heightened spiritual atmosphere.
